Tayibe Resident Faces Indictment for Luring Man to Fatal Ambush
Israeli police are set to indict a Tayibe resident for luring 57-year-old Ziad Bishara to a fatal ambush in an apparent blood feud. The killing highlights soaring violent crime rates in the Arab sector, which have claimed 189 lives this year.

Israeli police announced that a resident of Tayibe is facing imminent indictment for luring 57-year-old Ziad Bishara to his death in an apparent blood feud. According to the investigation conducted by the Central District's Central Unit, the suspect called Bishara under the guise of a job offer, luring him to a local school. Upon arrival, as Bishara sat in his vehicle alongside his second wife and five-year-old daughter, assassins ambushed the car, opened the door, and shot him dead at point-blank range.
Investigators believe the killing served as a revenge hit for the murder of 19-year-old Bakr Nusirat in Tayibe a month prior, a crime attributed to Bishara's son, Mahmoud. The violence follows a string of tragedies within the family: Bishara's ex-wife, 51-year-old social activist Suzan Abd al-Qadir Bishara, was shot dead in Tira in April 2025, roughly a year and three months before her former husband. Following her death, Ziad Bishara had publicly expressed fears that he would be next targeted.
Crime rates continue to surge in the Arab sector, with 189 homicides recorded since the beginning of the year. Last week alone saw five murders in three days, including the fatal shooting of Alaa Mansi Jabal in Tayibe while he was working at a tiling site. Police indicated he was an unintended victim. In another recent high-profile case, businessman Raed Hajj Yahya was gunned down outside his home after being lured out by a phone call, sustaining 13 bullet wounds from point-blank range.
