Yossi Ambulance Group Provides Holiday Transport for Mobility-Impaired Patients
Ahead of the holiday, the Yossi Ambulance group reported a surge in requests for its accessible transport service, helping mobility-impaired patients join family holiday dinners.
Ahead of the holiday, the Yossi Ambulance group reported a sharp rise in requests from hundreds of patients with limited mobility and their families seeking assistance through the "Ambulance Not Just for Emergencies" service. As part of this initiative, accessible ambulance division crews transport patients to and from family holiday dinners.
The service provides a dedicated, professional solution for buildings and sites lacking elevators or full accessibility. Medical teams accompany the patients, physically assisting them up and down stairs, and enabling them to celebrate safely and comfortably with their loved ones.
"For us, this is a top-tier social mission," said Ilon Sperber, CEO of the Yossi Ambulance Group. "During a period when the situation is slightly calmer than the urgent operational routine, we have the privilege and ability to harness our ambulance fleet and logistical capabilities for pure community action. Our goal is clear—no elderly or mobility-impaired person should be left alone on the holiday simply due to an accessibility challenge."
Paramedic Guy Karshover, the group's VP of Medicine, added: "Medically speaking, transporting a complex or bedridden patient is not just about driving. Our teams are equipped to provide a full professional envelope along the entire route—from specialized transport solutions in stairwells and non-accessible buildings to close medical supervision ensuring the patient reaches the holiday table and returns home in complete safety and without health risks."
