Marking 929 days since Hymnot's disappearance, the Kasau family is entering its third consecutive year without their daughter. Despite the unimaginable pain, the family extended warm wishes for a happy new year to the people of Israel.
Remaining in Safed
The Kasau family will mark the beginning of the new year as the sole residents remaining at the absorption center in Safed. Family members made it clear that they refuse to leave the premises until their daughter returns home.
Hymnot's father, Tesfya Kasau, expressed deep gratitude to the general public for their ongoing support over the past two and a half years, thanking them for their thoughts, financial assistance, and continuous prayers.
Holiday Symbolism
Noting the convergence of holidays—the Ethiopian New Year, Enkutatash, and the Jewish Rosh Hashanah—Tesfya called the overlap a joyous and symbolic moment of renewal.
"We ask all of Israel to direct their prayers so that our Hymnot will come out from wherever she is and join her family, us," the father pleaded.
Tesfya shared his hope of returning to a normal routine of family, studies, and work, while expressing a desire to host a grand thanksgiving celebration for the public's unwavering support, noting that Hymnot has become "a little bit of all of you." He concluded with a prayer for security, peace, and divine blessing for the entire nation.
