White House Replaces CNN on Air Force One Amid Press Freedom Dispute
The White House replaced CNN with a conservative outlet on Air Force One after barring major media networks from the premises, sparking a severe clash over press freedom and ongoing legal battles.
The White House announced on Friday that CNN will not join U.S. President Donald Trump aboard Air Force One for a trip to Tennessee, amid an ongoing dispute between the administration and major domestic media outlets. CNN was replaced by the conservative news network Real America's Voice News, according to American media reports.
Travel Ban and Legal Battle
The exclusion of the network from the presidential trip, aimed at attending a college football game, follows a decision last week by Trump to bar journalists from CNN, MSNBC, and Politico from entering White House grounds. The affected networks filed a lawsuit against the administration, and U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly subsequently issued a temporary restraining order overturning the ban.
The joint television broadcast pool operations have been suspended after major U.S. networks—ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News—announced they would not provide a substitute crew in place of CNN. Following the announcement of solidarity among the networks, President Trump launched an attack on Truth Social.

Defense of Independent Journalism
CNN reported that White House Correspondents' Association President Jackie Heinrich emphasized the crucial role of the pool system in sharing video footage of the president with the entire nation. Former association president Weijia Jiang added that America cannot afford state television and requires independent coverage.
Following the initial ban, CNN released a statement asserting that the network stands fully behind its White House team and its fair and accurate reporting, emphasizing that the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to perform journalistic work without government interference.
