Finance Minister and Religious Zionism party leader Bezalel Smotrich, alongside Knesset Constitution Committee Chairman Simcha Rothman, will present the next phase of the judicial overhaul plan today.

Following the advancement of several reform bills during the previous Knesset term, the lawmakers intend to promote additional legislative measures in the upcoming term. The proposals include completing the second phase of splitting the role of the Attorney General into separate prosecution and legal advisory functions.

The division of the Attorney General's powers has previously been a point of discussion between Smotrich, Rothman, and Justice Minister Yariv Levin. Additionally, the plan revisits proposals regarding the appointment of government legal advisors directly by ministers.

The updated platform also incorporates proposals discussed over recent years, including the implementation of an override clause. This clause would regulate the conditions under which the Knesset can re-enact legislation following a Supreme Court ruling.
