Deep mourning descended on the Torah and Hasidic world following the passing of the elder kabbalist Rabbi David Shalom Badechi, head of the "Hashalom" Kabbalah yeshiva, at the age of 85. Rabbi Badechi suffered a sudden medical emergency and collapsed in Bnei Brak, prompting intense resuscitation efforts by emergency medical teams.
Paramedics managed to restore a pulse after prolonged field efforts, and he was rushed while sedated and ventilated to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. Thousands across the country and worldwide offered prayers for his recovery following an urgent appeal by his son, Rabbi Yitzhak Badechi.
Despite the rigorous efforts of medical staff to save his life at the hospital, his condition rapidly deteriorated, and doctors were forced to pronounce him dead. Rabbi Badechi served for decades as a prominent spiritual leader and senior kabbalist, leaving behind a vast Torah legacy and his renowned yeshiva in Jerusalem.
