Israel marks the start of Sukkot as the Ministry of Transport announces the closure of licensing offices nationwide for the holiday period through October 2.
Israel begins celebrating the week-long festival of Sukkot this evening, Friday, with citizens heading out to leisure events across the country and abroad.
The Ministry of Transport announced on Thursday that all licensing offices nationwide will be closed for public reception throughout the holiday, starting today through Friday, October 2, 2026. Offices will resume regular public reception on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
The ministry clarified that during the holiday closure, temporary driving license requests will not be processed. Consequently, the public is requested not to submit such applications via the ministry's website during this period.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport updated that practical driving tests, theory exams, and mandatory courses will continue as scheduled and will not be affected by the general office closure.
The ministry recommends that the public prepare in advance and submit requests requiring licensing office processing ahead of time to avoid delays during the closure period.
