As reported by the New York Post, some buyers are already complaining about color fading around the camera module on the latest model. The complaints come even though the devices were only released on September 18 and are still brand new.
Camera Module Discoloration Issues
The issue particularly affects certain colors of the new lineup. Devices in bordeaux and black have shown signs of wear and fading around the three lenses on the rear camera. In contrast, models such as the blue glacier or silver variants appear completely unaffected, with no similar complaints reported.
"I also don't see any scratches, dents, or physical damage," one user shared on Reddit.
Another user shared a photo of the device and commented, "I have the same thing on the bordeaux Pro Max. Anyone who says you just need to wipe it is wrong, it doesn't come off. It is discoloration on the device."
Manufacturing Process Under Scrutiny
Other customers experienced the phenomenon even more severely, claiming their phones arrived with defective coloring straight out of the box. Following the situation, some customers reported returning their devices to Apple and demanding refunds for the expensive technology.
