A 20-year-old resident of Holon and active-duty IDF soldier has been arrested on suspicion of committing a sexual offense against a 13-year-old minor whom he met online. According to the Holon police station, the suspect was fully aware of the victim's age during the incident. Following the conclusion of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was submitted today, with a formal indictment expected in the coming days.
The investigation was launched ten days ago on September 6, after the minor's family contacted the police emergency hotline to report that a person had sexually assaulted him. Ayalon region investigators promptly opened a case and apprehended the suspect in Holon.
Police findings indicate that the suspect and the minor connected via the Bump application before meeting on several occasions. During one of these encounters at an abandoned building in Holon, the suspect allegedly committed the offense. Authorities emphasize that the act occurred despite the suspect's knowledge that the victim was only 13 years old.
The suspect was remanded in custody throughout the proceedings. With sufficient evidentiary groundwork now established, the prosecution filed its formal notice of intent to indict.
