A 10-year-old child was critically injured on Wednesday following an explosion in a recycling dumpster on Rabbi Mendvurna Street in Beitar Illit. Magen David Adom paramedics provided him with life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital while performing resuscitation efforts.

Preliminary details from the police investigation indicate that a recycling dumpster caught fire for reasons still unclear. During the fire, an unidentified object flew out of it and struck the child who was standing nearby. According to initial information from Hadassah Ein Kerem, it may have been a deodorant canister that exploded due to the fire, though this has not yet been verified.

MDA paramedic Yinon Bar Nachman said: "When we arrived at the scene, we spotted a 10-year-old child who was unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, and suffering from severe trauma and burns across his body. We provided life-saving medical treatment including stopping bleeding, chest compressions, artificial ventilation, and medication, and evacuated him to the hospital in critical condition while continuing resuscitation efforts."

Police officers from the Etzion station in the Judea and Samaria district arrived at the scene alongside firefighters and began investigating the circumstances of the explosion.
