Hooded Teenagers Attempt to Attack Driver in Petah Tikva Parking Lot
Hooded teenagers attempted to pull a driver from his car in a Petah Tikva parking lot on Tuesday evening, prompting the driver to flee and crash into parked vehicles.
A group of teenagers attempted to assault a driver who arrived at a parking lot on Kaplan Street in Petah Tikva on Tuesday evening. According to local residents, the hooded youths rushed toward the vehicle and tried to pull the driver out. Panicked, the driver reversed with his doors open, colliding with several parked cars before escaping. The teenagers fled the scene shortly after.
Resident Testimony and Surveillance Footage
Noya Melamed, a local resident, told Maariv that she heard loud crashes around 8:45 PM and rushed to her window. "I heard collision sounds and ran to the window to photograph the license plate of the hitting car, but I couldn't. Then I saw a neighbor checking her damaged car, and we checked my home security footage together," she said.
"A Hebrew-speaking neighbor told us he witnessed the situation. He saw a group of kids put on their hoodies and, within seconds, rush toward a random car in the parking lot and try to pull the driver out. It looked like they were trying to steal his car," Melamed recounted.
Lack of Security Cameras and Response
Melamed noted that residents have no information regarding the driver's identity or the attackers' motives. She criticized the local municipality, stating that she had previously requested security cameras from the Petah Tikva municipality following unusual incidents in the area, but no action had been taken yet.
