Three Seriously Injured in Gas Cylinder Explosion at Intel Plant in Kiryat Gat
Three workers were seriously injured in an explosion at the Intel plant in Kiryat Gat, suspected to be caused by a gas cylinder. Emergency services are probing for hazardous material leaks.

Three people were seriously injured following an explosion at the Intel plant in Kiryat Gat, which police assess was caused by a gas cylinder blast. Emergency services, including Israel Police from the Southern District and MDA rescue teams, rushed to the Rabin Industrial Park following reports of a fire and concerns over a potential hazardous materials leak.
According to Magen David Adom (MDA), paramedics treated three conscious workers suffering from severe burns at the scene. Environmental protection inspectors and the Ashkelon association of cities also arrived to assess potential environmental hazards, while police urged the public to stay away from the area.
This incident adds to a troubling safety record at the Kiryat Gat facility. Previous fatal and injury accidents include the death of a 20-year-old worker from Segev Shalom in April 2025, a crane collapse in November 2024 that left three injured, and fatal workplace accidents in 2007 and 2008.
