Power Outage

A sudden power outage is always frustrating, especially when your home internet cuts out. Many believe that an expensive Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is necessary, but the solution is much simpler and cheaper. Your router consumes very little energy, and with a bit of resourcefulness, you can keep it running for hours using a standard portable charger.

The storm strengthened to a Category 1 hurricane and approached the Big Island with winds of about 120 km/h. Nearly 24,000 people were left without power, roads and airports were closed, and residents were evacuated to shelters. Up to 635 mm of rain may fall. A Tel Aviv resident who spoke with N12 was furious: "I am pregnant, how is this happening at the peak of summer? This is truly life-threatening." According to the notice sent, the regional malfunction is expected to last at least until the afternoon.

Power supply on King George and Bar Giora streets in Tel Aviv was cut for about 20 hours after a municipal contractor damaged power cables. Residents were left without air conditioning, and businesses suffered losses until the supply was restored.

The Israel Electric Corporation notified residents of a planned outage between 09:00 and 16:00 for branch trimming near cables, precisely on a day of extreme heat. Following the protest, it was stated that "the work is essential due to a safety hazard, and an effort will be made to finish it within four hours."
