A 17-year-old appeared in court for a different matter, was released home - and then it was discovered that he had stabbed his cellmate in the face and neck with a ceramic shard. He is charged with assault under aggravating circumstances.

Arie Gottlieb, 76, who was convicted of severe sex offenses against a complainant who was 11 years old at the time of the acts, died at the "Magan Nitzan" detention center. The Israel Prison Service (IPS) stated that a team has been appointed to examine the circumstances of his death.
