Yohananof Launches Unique Social Supermarket in Rehovot
The major food chain has partnered with a non-profit organization to open a store in Rehovot for families in need, offering products at significantly discounted prices.

A new solution for families dealing with the cost of living was launched this week in Rehovot: a community supermarket that operates on a non-profit basis, allowing eligible residents to purchase a diverse basket of food and consumer goods at significantly reduced costs. The project is a collaboration between the Yohananof chain and the "Le-maan Ahi" organization, which inaugurated the facility this week at 1 Goldin Street.
The complex, covering an area of approximately 120 square meters, offers about 800 different daily necessities. Products are supplied through the Yohananof chain, and prices at the location are expected to be tens of percent lower than standard market rates. Shopping access will be granted to families recognized as eligible by the Rehovot municipality's welfare authorities, using a specially issued card.
Rehovot Mayor Matan Dil attended the opening ceremony, which also featured a musical performance by singer and songwriter Shuli Rand.
Eitan Yohananof, CEO and co-owner of the Yohananof chain, stated:
"For us, retail is first and foremost people and community. In a period when the cost of living burdens many families, we believe that an Israeli company has a responsibility to harness its capabilities and experience for the benefit of those who need it. It was important for us to create a real, pleasant, and respectful supermarket here, where families can choose from hundreds of products and enjoy prices that are tens of percent lower."
