Entrepreneur Marco Luzzato and his company Newbal-Tech Knowledge Services and Investments have filed a 3 million shekel lawsuit against Alonyal, the McDonald's franchise holder in Israel, citing patent and copyright infringement.
The lawsuit, lodged at the Central District Court, focuses on the technology powering the fast-food chain's digital platforms, specifically alleging unauthorized use of a remote training system for nutritional monitoring and analysis.
According to the legal filing, the disputed technology relates to cross-platform training systems for tracking dietary habits, utilizing concepts previously developed by the plaintiffs through an online service named "Nutrisel". Alonyal has not yet submitted a statement of defense, and McDonald's Israel stated it will respond through legal channels once the documents are received.
