Israeli actor Yehuda Levi opened up on Instagram about enduring severe bullying during his childhood in South Africa, a trauma that ultimately propelled him into a successful acting career. Sharing a deeply personal post as part of the President's Office national "Red Line" campaign against bullying, the 47-year-old star revealed how becoming a father to his six-month-old daughter Naya, with partner Dana Frider, forced him to confront ghosts from his past.

The Trauma of Exclusion and the Road to Acting

Levi recalled feeling like an outsider growing up abroad, never quite fitting in until the sixth grade when he finally found a group of friends. However, that sense of belonging shattered abruptly at a birthday party.

I remember them. I remember the place. But mostly I remember my body as if something inside me disconnected. Later the boycott continued. They laughed at me, distanced themselves from me, and I kept up a facade. As if I didn't care. But I cared. Everything went inside.

This profound isolation became the catalyst for his artistic journey. Seeking refuge from loneliness, Levi immersed himself in cinema, learning to read rooms, study people, and transform into a chameleon—skills that naturally paved the way for his future profession.

Childhood instability followed him when a severe family financial crisis forced an abrupt departure from South Africa, denying him the chance to say goodbye to his best friends.
