The Pussycat Dolls have launched their reunion tour, hoping 2000s nostalgia would carry them through, but reports show the comeback is far from the hit the group imagined. Initially announcing 56 shows earlier this year, all US dates were later cancelled.
Slow Ticket Sales in the UK
Outside the US, the picture remains unflattering. The opening show in Birmingham, England, is not yet sold out, with plenty of seats remaining in every area, including the standing floor. At Co-op Live in Manchester, Britain's largest indoor arena with 23,500 seats, only a small fraction of tickets has been sold for the October 10 concert: reports indicate only two sections are fully sold out.
Meanwhile, VIP packages like the 'Buttons Behind The Scenes Experience' are still offered at 645.60 pounds, alongside standard tickets for 106.75 pounds. In the upper tiers, hundreds of tickets remain for sale just over a month before the band takes the stage.
Drama Behind the Scenes
The reunion came with drama even before anyone stepped on stage, as members Jessica Sutta and Israeli-born Carmit Bachar found out about the return via social media.
Carmit, an original member, shared fan posts angry about her exclusion, later stating her 2000s departure was not her choice either. Jessica Sutta was less diplomatic, attacking her former bandmates online. Meanwhile, the official promotion stands at four tickets for 150 pounds.
