Vehicles Torched in West Bank As Supreme Court Criticizes Law Enforcement Failures
Masked Jewish rioters torched a vehicle in the southern West Bank, while police investigate separate settler violence and vandalism incidents near Ramallah and Nablus.
Three masked Jewish rioters torched a vehicle overnight in the West Bank village of al-Ribat al-Nabi, located in the southern Hebron Hills near the Mezadot Yehuda checkpoint. Surveillance cameras captured the suspects pouring accelerant on the car and setting it on fire before fleeing the scene.
Simultaneously, Palestinian residents reported another vehicle torching in the village of Atara near Ramallah, where revenge graffiti and slogans reading "Transfer only. Revenge, Ali Zehav, Leiter" were sprayed.
Last week, dozens of masked settlers from an illegal outpost near the village of Burka, close to Ramallah, burned agricultural fields, hurled stones using makeshift slingshots, and set fires. In one incident, a settler was seen firing a pistol toward residents before fleeing. The IDF and police are investigating, and one suspect has been arrested.
One day earlier, Supreme Court justices severely criticized the state during a hearing regarding settler takeovers of Palestinian homes in Qusra, near Nablus, raising difficult questions regarding alleged law enforcement failures in the West Bank.
