Victor Wembanyama has made it clear he has no intention of joining NBA stars who promote sports betting companies. When asked if he would ever become a spokesperson for the gambling industry, the San Antonio Spurs star responded firmly: "Absolutely not. I will never do that."

"To be honest, I think it's very sad to see certain players promoting this. Everyone can do what they want, but count me out," Wembanyama said. The 22-year-old French phenomenon has carefully chosen his brand associations, becoming the face of Nike, appearing in Louis Vuitton campaigns, and starring on the cover of NBA 2K27.

Unlike Wembanyama, other major NBA stars have signed lucrative endorsement deals with prediction markets and betting platforms. LeBron James partnered with Polymarket in a deal reportedly valued at around $15 million, while Giannis Antetokounmpo signed with Kalshi.

Wembanyama explained that money is no longer his primary consideration when evaluating commercial opportunities, noting that he is willing to walk away from massive paychecks if a product conflicts with his personal values. "Now I want to promote things that have a good and positive impact on the world, companies with which I can share messages and values," he concluded.
