A record number of Jews ascended the Temple Mount during the Sukkot holiday. According to data published by the "Beyadenu" association, 9,172 Jews visited the site during the holiday, the highest figure ever recorded for Sukkot.

According to the association, this represents an increase of about 22.7% compared to Sukkot last year, when 7,474 visitors were recorded. Compared to previous data, this marks a significant surge in visitors to the holy site.

During the holiday, organized ascents were also held by residents of various communities. Among those who ascended the Mount were Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir and members of the Knesset.

Ben Gvir's ascent drew attention as he carried a Sukkot prayer book. Police instructions officially prohibit Jewish prayer on the Mount, and bringing in prayer books was traditionally restricted to maintain the status quo.
