Police and the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality seized 34 illegally installed security cameras used by criminals to monitor public spaces during a joint operation on Monday.
In a joint operation by police and the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality, 34 illegally installed security cameras targeting public spaces were uncovered on Monday morning. Authorities suspect the devices were utilized by criminal elements to monitor street activity and facilitate illegal operations.
The sweep targeted multiple locations suspected of harboring criminal enterprises. Officers and municipal inspectors located cameras covertly mounted to observe public thoroughfares and open areas without legal authorization.
Police believe the surveillance network provided criminal networks with real-time visibility over local neighborhoods. No arrests have been publicly announced at this stage of the ongoing investigation.
The confiscation is part of a broader municipal and law enforcement initiative against criminal infrastructure. Police stated that enforcement efforts will continue alongside local authorities to combat crime and ensure public safety.
