Initial Arab media reports claimed the deployment was merely a military training exercise, but a military source confirmed the forces carried out an actual operational mission. The IDF officially confirmed the activity while withholding further details due to operational security concerns.
"This was an operational activity by Shayetet 13 in the southern Hebron Hills," the IDF stated. "For reasons of operational security, no further details can be provided at this time."
