"Restoring security to the North": The opening of the Galilee Conference 2026
Senior security, government, and local authority officials will gather to discuss the challenges of the North, civil resilience, and the steps required for the continued development and prosperity of the Galilee.
The Galilee Conference 2026, titled "Restoring security to the North", takes place today, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Culture Hall in Safed.
The conference brings together senior officials and opinion leaders from the political and security sectors, local government, civil society, and the media to discuss central issues concerning the future of the North and the Galilee. Journalist Lilach Shoval will host the event.

During the conference, the "Galilee Honoree" award will be presented to Raya Strauss for her many years of service to the Galilee and her contribution to strengthening the economy and industry in the North.
The conference will address security and civil challenges in the North, strengthening the sense of security among Galilee residents, civil resilience, and the steps required for the continued development and prosperity of the region.
