Jared Kushner, envoy and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, is expected to meet this week with Hamas representatives, the Emirati channel Al-Arabiya reported on Sunday. According to sources, the meeting will be held in the presence of mediators from Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar. Kushner is also scheduled to visit Israel to promote a peace plan for the Gaza Strip.

At the same time, a senior official in the Peace Council told the American network NPR that Kushner will meet tomorrow with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, reports emerged of Air Force strikes in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. According to Palestinian reports, 7 people were wounded in strikes targeting a tent in the western part of the city.

Earlier today, Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad met in Cairo with a Hamas delegation led by the head of the terrorist organization's political bureau, Khalil al-Hayya. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated:

"The meetings with our brothers in Egypt come within the framework of continuing the movement's diplomatic efforts with the mediators, to inform them of Israel's violations and to force Israel to adhere to the roadmap agreed upon with the Peace Council."

On Friday, Reuters reported that the purpose of the visit to Israel is a series of meetings across the Middle East to promote a 15-point plan for the Gaza Strip. Simultaneously, AFP reported, citing American officials, that the United States and Israel agree on the desired outcome in Gaza: "We share agreements and also many concerns, on which we will continue to work together."

However, following the stalemate in implementing Trump's plan, an Israeli official told Channel 13 on Friday that Israel has asked the US not to promote political moves in Gaza before the elections:

"The current situation is the best for Netanyahu, not to promote any plan in Gaza until the elections. This is contrary to the Americans' wishes."
