Muhammad and Abigail Top Israel's Most Popular Baby Names List
The Population and Immigration Authority released its annual baby names statistics ahead of the Jewish New Year. Muhammad and Ariel lead for boys, while Abigail remains the top choice for girls.

Ahead of the upcoming Jewish New Year, the Population and Immigration Authority has released its annual statistics on the most popular baby names in the country.
In the overall ranking for newborn boys, Muhammad secured the first place, followed by Ariel, Yosef, Adam, and David. The top ten list for boys also includes Omer, Rafael, Lavi, Michael, and Eitan.
When looking specifically at the Jewish sector, Ariel claims the top spot. It is followed by David, Rafael, and Lavi. The remaining positions in the Jewish sector's top ten are held by Uri, Michael, Eliyah, Eitan, Yehuda, and Ari.
For baby girls, Abigail leads the overall national list, followed by Miriam, Lia, Libby, and Tamar. Completing the top ten are Yael, Ayala, Sarah, Ella, and Naya.
Within the Jewish sector, Abigail also ranks first, followed closely by Libby and Tamar. Yael and Lia occupy the next positions, while Ella, Ayala, Sarah, Noa, and Naya round out the list of popular choices.
