Israeli rapper and producer Omri 69, known for shaping major pop and hip-hop hits with artists like Noa Kirel and Static, recently opened up about a near-death medical emergency.

In a candid interview on the Hitlist podcast, Omri revealed how an unhealthy lifestyle led to severe breathing difficulties and a 41-day medically induced coma.

The Warning Signs

Reflecting on his life before the incident, Omri admitted to heavy smoking, lack of fitness, and exhaustion from relentless studio work. The crisis began on a routine night while working at home when he realized his body was shutting down and rushed to the emergency room.

"I started convulsing like crazy there. For two hours they were pumping me with drugs," Omri shared, recalling the frantic initial hours in the hospital.

The Critical Turning Point

At around 6:00 AM, a newly arrived physician examined him and immediately recognized that his throat was dangerously blocked, leaving him with an airway the size of a tiny straw.

Recognizing the imminent danger, the doctor bypassed standard administrative procedures and rushed him to the operating room single-handedly, telling protesting staff to fill out the insurance paperwork later because the patient was seconds from death.

Awakening After 41 Days

Omri described entering an operating theatre crowded with around thirty medical professionals before the doctor offered comforting words and put him to sleep for more than a month.
