Noa Kirel's New Series Faces 2.6M Shekel Copyright Lawsuit

Pop star Noa Kirel's glossy international project faces a severe legal storm behind the scenes. A heavy copyright lawsuit worth 2.6 million shekels was recently filed against producer Yair Dori, along with the Israeli and Argentine production companies behind her new teen series "NOA", as revealed by the Instagram page "Erevtov".

At the center of the legal storm is screenwriter and actress Rotem Carmeli. According to Carmeli, the highly anticipated series is heavily based on an original format she developed under the name "Facu Yeah". Carmeli claims she previously presented the format to Dori, pointing to distinct and suspicious similarities between the two works, ranging from plotlines and character design to filming locations.

The legal blow is not limited to the financial aspect. Carmeli is demanding that the court issue a dramatic injunction completely prohibiting the further promotion, marketing, and distribution of the series, a step that could cast a heavy shadow over the entire project. Meanwhile, Dori completely rejects the allegations and previously denied any use of the plaintiff's format.

This legal drama erupts just as the project is set to premiere. Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video has scheduled October 9 as the official release date for the series, titled "Mírame Así, El Camino de NOA". The Spanish-language musical telenovela stars Kirel alongside Argentine actor and singer Agustín Bernasconi, who boasts roughly 9 million Instagram followers.
