Israeli Designer Shlomi Dadon Marries at 61 After Leaving LGBTQ+ Community

Israeli fashion designer Shlomi Dadon, formerly a prominent figure in the local LGBTQ+ community, recently married Yasmin Abigail at the age of 61. The couple met through a matchmaking effort by Sharon Adam, mother of popular singer Omer Adam. Speaking on Avi Shushan's podcast "Hakol Patuach," the newlyweds shared the unusual story of how they crossed paths.

A Match Made on Social Media

Yasmin Abigail, who was single until the age of 46, recalled seeing a story posted by Sharon Adam. "I told myself that one day I would find the one," Yasmin shared. Sharon had written to her followers: 'Come on girls, there is someone here looking for marriage.' Yasmin immediately messaged her to ask if the man in question was looking to settle down and have children. Sharon replied, "Okay, I will talk to him."

"Thanks to Sharon Adam, I have built a home in Israel," Shlomi Dadon reflected during the podcast interview.

According to Dadon, that specific social media story was filmed on the very day he spent with Sharon Adam at a NEXT performance in Jerusalem. During that outing, Dadon opened up to Sharon, expressing his desire to make a profound change in his life and marry a woman. Sharon encouraged him, telling him he absolutely had to pursue his authentic aspirations.

Romance and Marriage

Not knowing about Dadon's past initially, Yasmin trusted Sharon's judgment. After a lengthy first phone call filled with laughter, the relationship quickly blossomed. On one of their early dates, Dadon openly shared his background with Yasmin. The couple got engaged just two months later at the Western Wall, and they tied the knot in June with 500 guests in attendance at the Chatzer Namer wedding hall.
