Minister May Golan was interrogated for over eight hours by the Lahav 433 police unit on Sunday, marking her fifth questioning session in less than two weeks. Investigators are focusing on suspicions of fictitious employment within her ministerial office.

According to law enforcement officials, the inquiry centers on allegations that an employee in Golan's office received a state salary while actually working as a personal driver for Chaim Menachem, a political figure within the Likud party. In her defense, Golan's representatives claimed she hired the individual as a political advisor and arranged for him to undergo training with a more experienced political figure.

Police indicated that while this session was intended to advance the investigation toward completion, further questioning may still occur before the case is finalized and transferred to the State Attorney's Office later this month.

Last week, Golan was interrogated four times over suspicions of corruption and the appointment of political loyalists. Her cooperation followed months of resistance and came after reports emerged that police were prepared to issue an arrest warrant if she failed to appear voluntarily. The scrutiny follows her defeat in the Likud primaries, where she placed 23rd and was ultimately positioned 40th on the party's electoral list.
