Defense Minister Katz Approves End of IDF Operation in Hebron
Defense Minister Israel Katz approved ending the IDF's operation in Hebron on Sunday, setting strict conditions regarding future urban evacuations and warnings to Palestinian authorities.

Defense Minister Israel Katz approved the conclusion of the IDF's "Roaring Judah" operation in Hebron on Sunday, following a security briefing held without Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The approval is contingent on maintaining urban evacuation capabilities and warning Palestinian authorities that further attacks will trigger expanded operational measures.
The decision comes after the military requested to wrap up the operation on Friday following the demolition of terrorists' homes in the city. Initially, the political leadership rejected the request, siding with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz who previously backed Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir's initial pushback against hasty withdrawal before overruling him over security concerns.
The operation aimed to dismantle Hamas infrastructure and prevent further terror attacks in the West Bank city. Katz's conditional approval stipulates that evacuation protocols must be preserved for future contingencies, alongside a stern message to the Palestinian Authority that future security breaches will lead to widespread punitive evacuations across additional sectors.
