IDF Arrests Deserter in Modi'in Using Advanced Phone Tracking
The IDF arrested a military deserter in Modi'in using rare cell-phone tracking technology after a previous raid failed, military sources confirmed.

The IDF recently arrested a military deserter known as "The Groom" in the city of Modi'in, utilizing advanced cell-phone tracking technology to locate him. The operation followed a failed attempt to capture the young man at his home approximately three weeks prior, prompting the military to deploy exceptional technological tools to complete the mission.
The decision to escalate the search efforts came in the wake of the previous operational failure. When forces initially arrived at the deserter's residence weeks earlier, the arrest attempt was unsuccessful. To prevent further evasion, military authorities decided to track his mobile device to pinpoint his exact location.
Cell-phone tracking is considered an unusual measure not routinely deployed for apprehending draft evaders. Military sources confirmed that cellular geolocation was utilized to capture him in Modi'in. Meanwhile, police distanced themselves from the operation, stating that any such measure was executed solely by the IDF. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit declined to officially comment on the matter.
