Liam Golan Teases Future Shabbat Observance and Upcoming Debut Album
Singer Liam Golan, named Breakthrough of the Year, revealed in a recent interview that he may observe Shabbat in the future, inspired by his sister's religious journey. He is also preparing his debut album.
Liam Golan is currently working on his highly anticipated debut album, but alongside his musical endeavors, he is also reflecting on potential lifestyle changes. In a recent interview with Karin Abelman on the 'Israela' channel's annual chart for 5786, where he was named Breakthrough of the Year, he opened up about his sister Elin's growing religious observance and hinted that he might start observing Shabbat in the future.
According to Golan, Elin has grown significantly closer to faith, frequently visiting the synagogue and attending daily Slichot prayers. When asked about his own position in this spiritual journey, he clarified, 'I am not quite there at this stage,' but quickly added, 'I believe I will keep Shabbat in the future,' expressing a genuine desire to grow closer to tradition.
In the meantime, Golan shared that he lays tefillin daily, and noted that his family uses the Sabbath for quality time together while minimizing television viewing. Faith also plays a vital role in his rising music career: 'Every time before a performance, I say Shema Yisrael,' he shared.
Alongside these personal reflections, Golan discussed the creative process behind his upcoming debut album and the unique feeling of being actively involved in the songwriting. 'While I have released songs before, when you are actually part of the writing process, it is completely different,' he explained. Regarding the release date, he noted, 'We are working on it, after the holidays, God willing,' adding that releasing a full album signifies stepping into the big leagues.
Concluding the interview, Golan touched upon his sister in a lighter tone, naming Elin instantly when asked who makes him laugh the most in the world.
