Chat with Kohva and Amnon: Israeli Broadcaster Launches Kupa Rashit AI
The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation has launched an AI chat platform allowing viewers to converse with 12 characters from the hit comedy series Kupa Rashit.

Have you ever dreamed of being part of Israel's favorite fictional supermarket? Now you can chat with Kohva, argue with Amnon Titinsky, and talk to Shira, all thanks to a new AI chat platform launched by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.
With the release of the sixth season of the hit comedy series "Kupa Rashit" (Checkout) on Kan 11 and Kan BOX, the public broadcaster has rolled out an innovative AI-based website that allows viewers to converse with 12 iconic characters from the show. Since its launch, approximately 110,000 conversations have been initiated on the platform, with close to half a million messages sent to the characters.
Developed by the corporation's digital division, the platform features personas based on actors like Noa Koler, Keren Mor, Dov Navon, Amir Shorosh, Daniel Stipin, and Yaniv Swissa. The characters draw their knowledge from all broadcasted seasons, including the new episodes, updating continuously after each release.
Fans can ask Kohva for her blunt opinion on Shira, discuss supermarket visits with Amnon, or reminisce with Anatoly. Whenever a specific moment from the series is mentioned, an integrated video player pops up to display the exact scene.
Maintaining the unique traits of each character posed a major development challenge. The system is programmed to keep Kohva and Amnon true to their screen personas, even when users try to push boundaries. If a conversation crosses the line, each character reacts precisely according to their established personality.
Data since the launch shows massive engagement, with an average of five messages per chat and some conversations reaching the 40-message limit. Kohva Shavit is the most popular character, capturing 24.8 percent of all interactions.
