Levante Prepares 3 Million Euro Bid for Maccabi Tel Aviv Midfielder
Spanish club Levante is preparing a 3 million euro bid for Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Issouf Sissokho. The 24-year-old Malian player is also drawing interest from Sporting Braga ahead of the January transfer window.
Maccabi Tel Aviv has established itself not only as a domestic powerhouse but also as one of the most profitable player-exporting clubs in Israeli football history, generating tens of millions of euros through major transfers.
Following historic deals such as Eran Zahavi's move to Guangzhou R&F for around 7.2 million euros, the club has completed several impressive sales to Europe, including Oscar Gloukh to Red Bull Salzburg for 7 million euros, Felicio Milson to Red Star Belgrade for approximately 6 million euros, Daniel Peretz to Bayern Munich for about 5 million euros, and goalkeeper Predrag Rajković to Reims for 5 million euros.
Now, another name could soon be added to this prestigious list. According to reports, Spanish La Liga side Levante is preparing a bid of approximately 3 million euros for Maccabi midfielder Issouf Sissokho, with the aim of signing him during the upcoming January transfer window.
Levante, currently positioned 14th in La Liga, has identified the 24-year-old midfielder as a prime target to strengthen its midfield. Initial talks have already taken place between Levante representatives and the player's agents, and the Spanish club intends to move quickly to finalize the deal.
The proposed offer of around 3 million euros is significantly higher than Sissokho's current market value, which is estimated at approximately 1.7 million euros according to Transfermarkt. Furthermore, Levante is not the only club monitoring the midfielder, as Portuguese side Sporting Braga has also added him to its winter shortlist.
Sissokho joined Maccabi Tel Aviv from Bordeaux in the summer of 2024 and is under contract until the summer of 2027 with an option for an additional season. Since arriving at Kiryat Shalom, the Malian midfielder has become a central anchor in the yellow-and-blue midfield, boasting a passing accuracy of over 90%, exceptional ball-winning capabilities under pressure, and vital defensive intensity.
