The Czech Football Association is actively pursuing 17-year-old Barcelona midfielder Orian Goren, offering him a direct path to the senior national team. Pavel Nedvěd, the association's sporting director and a Czech football legend, confirmed the ongoing negotiations in a recent interview with the iDNES podcast "SportBar".

"We are in contact with him, his family, and his agent. I think he is a tremendous talent, not just in Israeli or Czech football, but globally," Nedvěd stated. He highlighted that Goren has Czech-Jewish roots through his grandparents, giving him eligibility to represent the Czech Republic alongside Israel, his father's homeland.

Goren, who recently made Barcelona's squad for El Clásico against Real Madrid without appearing on the pitch, holds dual citizenship. Although he has previously represented Israeli youth teams, he has not yet capped for the senior side, keeping his international future open.

Detailing the Czech offer, Nedvěd noted that while Israel is expected to call him up for the U19 squad, the Czechs have dangled a senior team spot. "We think he already has the ability to play for our senior national team," he explained.

Comparing Goren's playing style to Barcelona star Pedri, Nedvěd praised the youngster's technical development and tactical fit for the Catalan club, predicting a bright future in the starting lineup.
