Netanyahu's message to the Americans: Without the removal of Hamas's weapons, the IDF will not leave Gaza

Sources told the Saudi channel Al-Arabiya that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked American advisor Jared Kushner and Peace Council representative Nickolay Mladenov to stop Hamas's funding sources.

According to the sources, Netanyahu also requested guarantees regarding the reliability of the terrorist organization Hamas on the issue of disarmament. Furthermore, it was reported that the Prime Minister informed Kushner and Mladenov that the IDF's exit from the Gaza Strip depends on the removal of Hamas's weapons from the Strip.

Earlier today, following Netanyahu's meeting with American administration officials and the Peace Council, a political source said:

"It was agreed that no withdrawal would be carried out without the disarmament of Hamas."

According to him, the first condition for any future step in Gaza will be the disarmament of Hamas under American supervision, and not that of mediating countries like Turkey and Qatar.

The political source noted that "Hamas will hand over the weapons for destruction under the supervision of the American General Jeffries," and in return, "freedom of action will be granted and maintained for the IDF in thwarting threats, including Nukhba forces." This is in contrast to the Peace Council's initial document on the subject.

It was also agreed in the conversation with Kushner, Mladenov, and Blair that the Peace Council would carry out sanitation and hygiene activities throughout the Strip. During the conversation, Netanyahu reiterated and clarified that as long as Hamas's weapons are not destroyed, the IDF will remain at the yellow line and from there will defend Israel. Meanwhile, the fact that the three arrived directly from a meeting with senior Hamas officials in Egypt was not well received in Jerusalem, according to conversations with Israeli sources.
