Mojtaba Khamenei's Message to Iranian Authorities: A Call to Address the Crisis
The Supreme Leader of Iran has called on officials to avoid statements that could harm public morale and deepen internal divisions. He also demanded that the government focus on tackling inflation, unemployment, and the cost of living, while advocating for a reduction in the use of the dollar within the Iranian economy.
The leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, published a written message on Friday calling on authorities to avoid any steps or statements that could harm social cohesion and weaken public morale.
"It is strictly forbidden to do anything that harms social cohesion," Khamenei wrote in a message released for "Government Week."
Khamenei urged senior regime officials to avoid "despairing statements that weaken national and public motivation," and warned against creating what he described as artificial disputes. Among other issues, he cited debates surrounding "war versus negotiations," "consensus versus extremism," and "compromise versus warmongering."
His remarks follow a statement by Vice President Jafar Gampane, who suggested that the regime would have halted uranium enrichment had they known Ali Khamenei would be eliminated.
According to Khamenei, authorities should emphasize Iran's "power and strength" rather than focusing on its weaknesses. He warned that highlighting the country's vulnerabilities could aid its enemies and undermine the confidence of its supporters.
At the same time, the Supreme Leader addressed the economic situation, calling on the government to pay closer attention to inflation, unemployment, and rising prices. He also demanded the promotion of investment and local production to combat the country's economic difficulties.
Furthermore, Khamenei called for reducing the role of the dollar in the Iranian economy as part of a policy aimed at decreasing Iran's dependence on the Western financial system.
The message comes as the Iranian regime faces simultaneous economic pressures, war, and growing tension on both internal and external fronts. Khamenei's call for unity reflects Tehran's fears regarding the potential for damaged public morale and deepening internal divisions.
