Apple plans to unveil a series of new products at its launch event in September 2026, led by its first foldable iPhone, according to a Bloomberg report. Mark Gurman notes that the company is already planning a second generation for 2027, followed by a third version as early as 2028, featuring slightly larger screens both inside and out.

According to reports, the foldable iPhone will open like a book rather than in a clamshell configuration. Apple has reportedly chosen a design that is wider than it is tall, distinguishing it from most foldable smartphones currently on the market. The screen aspect ratio is 4:3, similar to the iPad, and when open, the device is expected to feel like a hybrid of an iPhone and an iPad — featuring an OLED screen size close to the iPad mini and interface options reminiscent of the iPad. Gurman defined the move as "the most significant change in the history of the iPhone."

The most likely date for the event is Wednesday, September 9. Alongside the foldable iPhone, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, a new Apple TV streamer, a new HomePod mini, and a new smart home product, reportedly called HomePad or HomePod Touch, are expected to be unveiled.

"Series 12 and Ultra 4 will receive their first real performance upgrade in years," the report states.

Regarding pricing, Apple may raise costs across the new series following an increase in memory prices attributed to the AI industry. One estimate mentions a starting price of approximately $1,299 in the USA for the iPhone 18 Pro. Under the hood, Apple is expected to boost performance with new A20 chips and increase the memory in the base model to 12GB RAM.

The camera is set to be a key upgrade in the iPhone 18 Pro: according to Bloomberg, it may include a variable aperture system, allowing for better control over light reaching the sensor to produce sharper images and more natural portraits. The devices are expected to arrive with iOS 27 and an upgraded version of Siri, based on Apple Intelligence.
