Police and IDF to hold massive drill in Eilat: scenarios include terrorist infiltration

Next week, a special drill will take place in Eilat with the participation of hundreds of soldiers, Eilat District police officers, special forces, and reconnaissance units. The purpose of the drill is to test cooperation between emergency services in the Eilat area, covering several scenarios, including the infiltration of terrorists into the city.
It was recently reported that the head of the Shin Bet warned in closed discussions about security risks in Eilat, but subsequent clarifications stated that there is no concrete warning regarding the city. The drill, held under the command of Southern District Commander Nitzav Haim Bublil, will test the readiness of military and police forces for various security scenarios.
Speaking at a ceremony for outstanding personnel, Southern District Commander Haim Bublil emphasized the need for constant vigilance:
"The threat to the borders and the city of Eilat requires us to be in constant alertness, out of the understanding that the possibility of a significant terrorist event is a scenario we are obligated to be prepared for at all times."
