JNS Launches Hebrew News Website Led by Journalist Ariel Kahana
International news agency JNS has launched its Hebrew-language edition, appointing former Israel Hayom diplomatic correspondent Ariel Kahana as editor-in-chief to focus on in-depth journalism.
A new Hebrew-language news website was launched on Sunday in Israel, led by Ariel Kahana, the former senior diplomatic correspondent for Israel Hayom, who left the daily after nine years to assume the role of editor-in-chief.
Expanding Global Jewish Media
JNS (Jewish News Syndicate) is an international news agency focusing on the Jewish world and Israel, with a strong operational base in the United States. Launched in 2011, the agency provides news briefs, features, opinion pieces, and analyses to approximately 100 print newspapers and digital publications daily.
This marks the first time JNS has established a dedicated Hebrew-language edition, building on its long-standing presence in Israel. The Adelson Family Foundation, currently managed by Miriam Adelson, publisher of Israel Hayom, has historically been a major donor to JNS.
A Shift Toward In-Depth Journalism
Rather than competing in the rapid-fire cycle of breaking news flashes, the new platform aims to deliver comprehensive coverage and context.
Ariel Kahana stated:
"In line with the values that have guided JNS since its inception, the Hebrew edition will offer serious, in-depth journalism that supports the interests of the Jewish people. We will achieve this with the help of our main branch in the United States, making us the first Israeli media outlet with one wing there and another here in Israel, operating in both Hebrew and English."
Kahana, who will continue to cover diplomatic affairs on his personal Telegram channel of 11,000 subscribers alongside his editorial duties, confirmed that the outlet has already recruited journalists and plans further expansion by 2027.
