Police Arrest Three Suspects in Grenade Attack on Japanika Restaurant
The Israel Police arrested three suspects for throwing a fragmentation grenade at a Japanika restaurant branch in Rosh Pinna. The chain is owned by Beitar Jerusalem owner Barak Abramov.
The wave of arson and violent attacks targeting branches of the Japanika restaurant chain in Israel—owned by businessman and Beitar Jerusalem owner Barak Abramov—has led to further arrests. Following the apprehension of suspects linked to attacks on branches in Rehovot, Kiryat Ono, Haifa, and Givataim, the Israel Police announced on Tuesday that three additional suspects have been detained, this time in connection with an attack on the Rosh Pinna branch.
According to the Israel Police, on the morning of July 15, 2026, a report was received regarding a fragmentation grenade thrown at the Japanika branch in Rosh Pinna. Northern District police officers arrived at the scene, gathered evidence, and initiated an investigation.
As the investigation turned public, police arrested three suspects on August 7, 2026. The detainees include two residents of northern Israel and one resident of the central region, all suspected of involvement in throwing the fragmentation grenade at the business.
The suspects were transferred for interrogation to the Crime Fighting Unit of the Kinneret District. They are scheduled to appear before the Kiryat Shmona Magistrate's Court, where police will request an extension of their detention.
The Israel Police stated:
