Young Man Brutally Attacked in Suspected Homophobic Assault at Jaffa Port
A young man claims he was brutally attacked and targeted with homophobic slurs by a group of men at the Jaffa Port following a concert. Police are investigating the incident.

A young man named Idan claims he was brutally attacked by a group of men at the Jaffa Port due to his sexual orientation. According to his account published on social media, an evening that began with a concert turned into a violent incident involving physical assaults and death threats.
The Incident at Jaffa Port
Idan and his female friend had attended a performance by Lihi Tolidano at the Barby venue in the Jaffa Port. Walking through the port after the show, Idan, who was wearing denim overalls, was approached by a stranger who began hurling homophobic slurs at him. Although Idan initially tried to ignore the remarks, he eventually decided to respond, which triggered an immediate escalation.
I saw evil and hatred in his eyes. He grabbed a helmet and just started tearing me apart. I took so many blows to the head that everything started to blur, and within that fog, suddenly another four or five guys came out.
According to Idan, the additional attackers joined in and began kicking him while shouting threats. He stated that one of the assailants broke a glass bottle on the pavement and attempted to stab him. The attack was reportedly cut short thanks to his friend's courageous screaming and filming, which frightened the attackers, alongside approaching police sirens.
Investigation and Public Reaction
Footage from the scene showed shattered glass on the sidewalk and a police officer detaining an individual, though it remains unclear whether the detained person was directly involved in the assault. The suspects managed to flee the scene before police fully secured the area.
Singer Lihi Tolidano expressed deep shock and sorrow over the incident, addressing Idan directly on social media to offer her support and condemn the violent acts.
