Police prosecution recently filed an indictment in the Hadera Magistrate's Court against a former 30-something manager of the Burger Ranch chain, charging him with stealing thousands of shekels from the cash registers of the branches he managed.

According to the indictment, the manager oversaw three branches of the chain in Netanya, Or Akiva, and Haifa, and allegedly stole funds totaling approximately 4,858 shekels. The method involved canceling customer orders and pocketing the cash, attributing the cancellations to system glitches.

The case came to light after the chain filed a police complaint, leading to his immediate termination. The charges include theft by an employee, an offense carrying a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison.

Burger Ranch is the second-largest hamburger chain in the country with 55 branches, preceded only by McDonald's.
