Newborn Revived After Home Delivery in Jerusalem, Condition Serious

A newborn baby delivered at home in the Givat Shaul neighborhood of Jerusalem was rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in serious condition on Wednesday after being found pulseless and breathless.

Emergency medical teams from United Hatzalah rushed to the scene following a report of a woman in labor. Upon arrival, they found that the baby had already been delivered and was being held by the mother.

Volunteer physicians Prof. Jeffrey Kashuk and Dr. Aryeh Yaffe, paramedic Shuki Becker, and medic Dudi Rosenwald stated: "The infant was unconscious, without a pulse or breathing. We performed advanced resuscitation procedures, and after his heartbeat returned, he was evacuated in a United Hatzalah intensive care ambulance to Shaare Zedek Medical Center for further treatment, with his condition defined as serious."
