Israel Railways Announces Special Schedule for Rosh Hashanah and Selichot
Israel Railways has announced a special holiday schedule for Rosh Hashanah, doubling Haifa-Tel Aviv services. Night trains from Herzliya will also be extended directly to Jerusalem to assist Selichot worshippers.
In preparation for Rosh Hashanah, Israel Railways ("Rakevet Israel") has announced a special schedule to accommodate holiday travelers. The adjustments include increased train frequencies on the eve and at the conclusion of the holiday, alongside extended night train services to Jerusalem during the Selichot prayer period.
On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Friday, September 11, passenger trains will operate approximately between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM, following the standard Friday schedule. Service on the Haifa–Tel Aviv line will be doubled, with two trains operating per hour in each direction instead of one.
Additionally, service on the Hadera East–Rosh HaAyin North line will operate on the eve of the holiday at a frequency of one train per hour in each direction.
Train services will resume after the holiday on Sunday, September 13, starting at approximately 9:30 PM. Trains will run based on the Saturday night schedule, with supplementary service on the Hadera East–Rosh HaAyin North line.
Furthermore, to assist those traveling for the traditional Selichot prayers, night train services will be extended on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8–9 and September 15–16. These trains will run directly between Herzliya and the Jerusalem–Yitzhak Navon station, instead of terminating at Ben Gurion Airport, to facilitate travel to Jerusalem.
