The Israel Defense Forces faced another disciplinary breach as a mass brawl erupted between combat soldiers during the annual IDF combat readiness and Krav Maga championship.

According to military sources, the incident occurred following a Krav Maga match between soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade and the Givati Brigade. After the Givati fighter lost the bout, a verbal altercation broke out, quickly escalating into a physical clash outside the mat. Within seconds, soldiers from both battalions joined the fray, attacking members of the opposing side.

Commanders present at the scene attempted to separate the combatants but were soon overwhelmed, with several officers struck and one receiving a punch to the face. Despite the violent altercation, the IDF championship continued as scheduled.

This event follows recent efforts by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai, who convened deputy battalion and brigade commanders approximately ten days ago to demand a restoration of strict military discipline within combat units.
