The IDF and Shin Bet are investigating violent riots near Jalud after over 100 Israeli rioters attacked security forces and a Palestinian family's home, injuring three officers.
IDF and Shin Bet Investigate Clashes in Jalud
The IDF and the Shin Bet are completing internal investigations and examining the violent events that took place overnight near Jalud on the West Bank. According to the military, a Palestinian family named Tubasi had previously abandoned their home due to repeated attacks by Israeli rioters. As part of the IDF's commitment to a High Court ruling, security forces acted to secure the family and return them safely to their home.
Rioters Attack Security Forces and Palestinian Property
According to the preliminary investigation, after the family entered the house escorted by the IDF and Border Police, violent Israeli rioters began arriving at the scene. The rioters set fire to a nearby structure and subsequently broke into the family's home, where severe violence erupted.
More than 100 Israeli rioters gathered in the area, blocking roads with large boulders, burning tires, hurling stones at security forces, and setting fire to Palestinian buildings and vehicles, including two belonging to the Tubasi family. Three Border Police officers were injured during the clashes, and a security vehicle was damaged. Forces used dozens of riot dispersal means and called for immediate reinforcements.
"This is widespread violence by Jewish rioters during the Sukkot holiday, while security forces are securing tens of security-threatened areas and engaged in ongoing counter-terrorism operations, directed at soldiers during their duty. This is crossing a bright red line that is completely unacceptable," the IDF stated.
Security Establishment Response
Defense officials noted that the incident unfolded rapidly, limiting the effectiveness of prior intelligence from the Shin Bet. Security sources added that the Shin Bet recently decided to deploy its operational units against Jewish extremist terror in the West Bank, units typically reserved for core dangerous cells in Palestinian sectors.
