Holon Municipality Sues Parents of Minors Over Public Vandalism

The Holon Municipality, led by Mayor Shay Kenan, has filed lawsuits totaling tens of thousands of shekels against six minors and their parents following several incidents of vandalism and public property damage.

Holon Mayor Shay Kenan stated:

"When minors cause damage, riot dangerously, and vandalize public property, we demand that the parents take responsibility. In cases where an agreement is not reached, we file lawsuits against them as well."

In the first incident, which took place at the Naomi Shemer Garden in the city, three minors set fire to a shading canopy and synthetic grass. After out-of-court settlement attempts failed, a lawsuit for 35,000 NIS was filed against them and their parents.

In the second incident, at the Tzameret Garden, three minor girls were caught spraying graffiti on public structures. While settlements were reached with two of the families, a lawsuit for 8,212 NIS was filed against the third family.

Additionally, Kenan shared details of another incident in the Kiryat Sharet neighborhood, where youths on electric scooters and electric bicycles obstructed a police patrol vehicle. Within an hour, the youths were located and detained, their parents were summoned to the station, fines were issued, and the electric vehicles were confiscated. Kenan concluded by emphasizing that Holon is establishing uncompromising governance for the benefit of its residents.
