Teenager Seriously Injured in Suspected Holon Apartment Explosion
A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured in a suspected grenade explosion inside a Holon apartment. Police have opened a criminal investigation into the incident.
A 15-year-old teenager was seriously injured on Monday afternoon in an suspected grenade explosion inside an apartment in the Jesse Cohen neighborhood of Holon. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The report of the explosion was received at the Magen David Adom (MDA) 101 emergency hotline at 12:11 PM. Paramedics and medics provided medical treatment at the scene and evacuated him to Wolfson Medical Center in conscious condition with severe bodily injuries.
MDA paramedic Noam Barzani stated: "We saw the teenager conscious and suffering from severe injuries. We provided life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition."
Police Israel stated: "A report was received at the 100 emergency hotline regarding an explosion on Sanhedrin Street in Holon. A wounded person was evacuated from the scene. Upon receiving the report, police forces from the Holon station in the Ayalon region, along with police sappers, arrived at the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the incident and conducting sweeps."
Just last night, a 16-year-old girl was moderately injured by a grenade thrown at a house in Ma'alot-Tarshiha. The background to the incident is criminal and the circumstances remain under investigation.
